Trainings & Events

Helping You Stay Ahead

Throughout the year, GVIRL hosts a number of events ranging from open houses to seminars, to training, and co-sponsored industry workshops. Through these events, our goal is to help educate, inform, and train customers on various topics including: testing (e.g. HALT, Vibration), standards and requirements (RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-810), the global market (International Approvals), certification (Lightning, IPC) and many others.

Scroll down to see the upcoming training that are planned so far for this year and check back to see what new events have been added. Also, if there is a specific topic that you are interested in learning about, we want to hear it. Send an email to marketing@gvirl.com and we will try to make it happen.

If there’s a training you’d like to attend that’s outside of our Baltimore and Anaheim locations, please contact william.graver@ntslabs.com today.

Fundamentals of Random Vibration and Shock Testing Open Course

Fundamentals of Random Vibration and Shock Testing
This 3-day Training in Fundamentals of Random Vibration and Shock Testing covers all the information required to plan, perform, and interpret the results of all types of dynamic testing. Some of the additional areas covered are fixture design, field data measurement and interpretation, evolution of test standards and HALT/HASS processes.

This class is applicable to ANY vibration and shock testing done to environmental test standards including MIL-STD-810, DO-160, IEC specifications, and all other documents which provide test methodology for environmental testing. The test methods explained and taught in this class apply to testing of ANY equipment subjected to dynamic environments whether it is intended for military/aerospace, commercial, or consumer use.

Lightning Protection of Aircraft Training

Lightning Protection of Aircraft is a four-and-one-half day course to familiarize aircraft and system or equipment design engineers with the interaction of lighting and static electricity with advanced technology aircraft. The course begins by bringing the student up-to-date with the fundamentals of lightning and static electrification of aircraft and their effects on structures and systems. This is followed by a thorough review of applicable regulations and standards. Please email Mary.Gavazzi@ntslabs.com if you have any questions.

Schedule and Registration:

February 27 - March 3, 2023

Lightning Protection of Avionics Training

Lightning Protection for Avionics is a four-and-one-half day course for engineers concerned with lightning protection design and certification for aircraft avionics and other electrical systems. The course includes a detailed study of lightning indirect effects and coupling mechanisms, analysis and testing of transient levels, specific protection-design scenarios and techniques, and a thorough discussion of certification plans and verification-test methods and procedures. Emphasis is given to the protection of flight-critical and essential systems. Please email Mary.Gavazzi@ntslabs.com if you have any questions.
